There are a number of financial programs available for new business start-ups, expansions or consolidations that meet the objectives of local economic development guidelines. Here is a list of the most current programs that our partners offer. Other programs are also available. Please contact us for more information as to which are the best financial options for your project.

  • Employer Wage Subsidy – Workforce Expansion Program

    Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour

    Employer Wage Subsidy utilizes temporary wage reimbursements to help establish permanent employment or annually recurring seasonal jobs.

  • Business Development Program

    Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA)

    The Business Development Program (BDP) is designed to help you setup, expand or modernize your business. Focusing on small and medium-sized enterprises, the BDP provides access to capital in the form of interest-free, unsecured, repayable contributions. Not-for-profit organizations that provide support to the business community may also qualify for non-repayable assistance.

  • Northern Economic Development Fund

    Regional Development Corporation

    The Northern Economic Development Fund (NEDF) invests in projects that support the development of the economy and the building of community capacity in northern New Brunswick. The northern regions of New Brunswick require assistance in order to address the substantial challenges facing the region and offset the economic downturn.

    The NEDF will provide assistance to community-driven initiatives in support of the following areas of investment:

    • Economic development and diversification: small and medium-sized businesses, entrepreneurship, skills and training, innovation.
    • Community capacity building: infrastructure, partnership investment.
  • New Brunswick Growth Program

    Business New Brunswick

    The objectives of the NB Growth Program (NBGP) are to create sustainable employment opportunities in New Brunswick by financially stimulating small businesses to pursue opportunities within targeted sectors of the economy and to stimulate capital investment for small business start-up, expansion, diversification, innovation, and productivity improvement.

  • Financial Assistance to Industry Program (FAIP)

    Business New Brunswick

    The purpose of the assistance is to provide adequate funding for capital expenditures and working capital to enable the establishment, expansion, or maintenance of those eligible industries.

  • Technology Adoption and Commercialization Program (TACP)

    Business New Brunswick

    Assistance to manufacturers, processors, information and communication technology, bioscience and first of its kind exportable services may be considered in other sectors in financial support of the technological innovation and pre-commercial product development needs.

  • Trade Assistance Program (TAP)

    Business New Brunswick

    The Trade Assistance Program (TAP) is intended to introduce New Brunswick companies to exporting and to assist in the development of "new" export markets outside of Atlantic Canada.

  • Community Economic Development Fund (CEDF)

    Strategic planning

    • Regional strategic planning
  • Business and entrepreneurship development

    • Conceptual design for prototype development (innovation)
    • Business plans (start-up or expansion)
    • Marketing plans
    • Management training
    • Mentoring programs and skills training initiatives
    • Seminars and workshops on productivity improvement, e-commerce, e-business, quality assurance and other “competitiveness” factors
    • Entrepreneurship development
